• It works by reducing bowel movement and fluids into the intestine.
• It also reduces the volume of daily stool and increases the viscosity and density of stool, which reduces the occurrence of diarrhea.
• It also works to reduce fluid loss and thus increases the desire to excrete.

 

 

Uses of Imodium 2 mg capsules:

• Used to reduce the drainage volume of an ileostomy, a surgical opening in the abdominal wall through which body waste is removed.
• To control symptoms of acute diarrhea in people over 2 years of age, including traveler's diarrhea.
• For the control and symptomatic relief of chronic diarrhea associated with inflammatory bowel disease in adults.

 

 

Side effects of Imodium capsules:

Dosage:

The usual dosage is 3-4 capsules (6mg-8mg) per day

 

Additional information:

• It should not be given to patients hypersensitive to loperamide or any other ingredient in this medicine.
• Do not use it if you suffer from bacterial enterocolitis such as salmonella.
• Do not use if you have severe dysentery or acute ulcerative colitis.

Do not use if you have abdominal pain with no diarrhea.

Not to be given to children under 2 years of age.
